RENO, Nov. 21 – Douglas Sinclair’s brother and wife left on Tuesday’s train for Southern Alberta.
A large crowd gathered at Reno for the basket social held to raise funds for Santa Claus. About $117 was cleared.
After the cold spell we are glad to see it warming up again.
Mr. and Mrs. Chabot have their daughter and son-in-law and family from Morinville visiting them for a few days.
Others returning after holidaying outside were Dick Shewchuk, Mike Krawchuk and Mrs. Mateson.
Albert Smuhl arrived on Saturday morning’s train from Atlee, Alta., at which point he operates a ferry on the Red Deer river. Clarence Bjork also returned after spending a holiday in British Columbia and Spokane, Wash. He says Canada is the best place to be with prices as high as they are in the U.S.A. The only thing cheeper [sic.] cigarettes and beer.
“Red” Helgerson [sic.] and George Rowe have been sawing wood in town the last couple of days.
Rirey Day is spending a days in the district and reports they all like it at their new home in the Edmonton district.
